You may choose your arrival date to suit your own schedule. You will be welcomed like old friends, and we will take care of everything you need. Please note that the tours we offer must be reserved at least 4 days in advance and they take half a day. From September to April, afternoon departures will be scheduled at 3 p.m. to leave the morning free to visit our historic cities or enjoy other activities. The tour package is for a minimum of 6 people.
Every evening, Il Noceto Umbro will also prepare a special dinner according to the theme of the day, to give you the chance to discover and enjoy Umbrian culinary specialties.
The programs can be varied to cater to different requests.
Day 1: Arrival at Il Noceto Umbro. Welcome drink and snacks, accommodation in rooms and a delicious dinner prepared by Maria, chef and owner of the holiday farm.
Day 2: Watercolor class illustrating the basic techniques to create a painting.
Day 3: Tour of an organic farm where sheep are raised. The farm produces excellent cheese, which you can learn how to make. It is situated in Umbria’s beautiful rolling countryside, along the Franciscan Trail.
Day 4: Horseback riding in the Umbrian hills (1 hour, but a full day can also be organized). We will also prepare a delicious picnic basket for you.
Day 5 - The Olive Oil Road: Guided tour of an olive grove. During the harvest season, we will also show you how the olives are picked; during the rest of the year, this will be demonstrated through simulations. As part of this itinerary, we will also discuss Umbria’s woodland products, explaining how truffles grow and how they are gathered. Then we will visit an oil mill for a demonstration of how olive oil is made, from pressing to bottling.
Day 6 - The Wine Road: Guided tour of a vineyard, illustrating how grapes are grown. During the harvest season, we will also show you how the grapes are picked; during the rest of the year, this will be demonstrated through simulations. This will be followed by a tour of a winery to see the winemaking process.
Day 7: To expand on what we’ve learned on Days 5 and 6, there will be a guided tour of the Olive and Wine Museums in Torgiano, followed by a tour of the Ceramics Museum in Deruta. You will be taught basic pottery-making techniques at a Deruta workshop and those who are interested can try working with clay.
For guests who are interested in staying for 10 days, the rest of the stay will be organized with guided tours of some of Umbria’s most important historical areas and artistic cities, such as Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Spoleto, Lake Trasimeno and Todi. We can also organize recreational activities with other guests or a guided tour of the Perugina chocolate factory.
